Not gonna lie… I might have shed a few tears as I experienced the last 2 weeks of vacation with my parents.
As a poor little farm girl I always dreamed of Disney. My parents are humble, simple people who love each other deeply and are about to celebrate 55 years of marriage. They didn’t have money for extravagant vacations. How could they raising 8 kids?
So this… well…
It is a lifelong dream come true for me.
They can’t move as quickly and were constantly apologizing for “slowing us down” but I’ll tell you, with all honesty, I am so grateful for this experience with them.
I’m “spoiled” now as I have already traveled to Disney 5 times. This time was different because of them. They are still simple farm people who don’t get to travel.
Seeing the trip through their eyes was priceless. Hearing my dad repeatedly say “this is so amazing” and “gods world is so beautiful” or my mom saying “we enjoyed this so much” still chokes me up.
I am still a little girl at heart when it comes to my parents. I know how lucky I am for the opportunity to spend time with them.
If you have family you love…
please take the time to cherish them.
Do things with them.
Give them your attention.
Be present and focus on making their dreams come true.
This may have originally been my childhood dream, but in the end, it was also a dream for them that became reality.
That made it even better than I imagined.
Do you have a dream you haven’t realized yet?
If you do…
Go make it happen!
